Eyelid Surgery (Blepharoplasty)
Eyelid surgery is a popular procedure for people in their 40’s and older who have excess upper eyelid skin making the eyelid appear heavy and tired looking. The surgery removes the excess skin and fat deposits from the upper and or lower lids. Excision of the skin leaves a scar that is hidden in the natural crease of the eyelid and leaves the face looking refreshed and more youthful.
This 1-2 hour surgery is carried out under local anaesthetic as a day stay procedure in our clinic rooms.
Breast Augmentation
Breast augmentation or implants is an option for people who have little breast development or those who have lost breast mass, as a result of breast feeding, weight loss or ageing.
We use high quality silicone gel implants and places these over the chest muscle (sub-mammary placement) and prefers the incision to be in the fold of skin under the breast (inframammary approach) which is easily hidden under a bra.
Surgery is carried out as a day stay case or overnight under general anaesthesia.
Breast Reduction
Breast reduction is an option for people who have large breast development causing them to feel uncomfortable, heavy and with possible associated neck and back pain.
This surgery can reduce them to a more normal size which results in a positive outcome for the patient both physically and psychologically.
Dermabrasion
Dermabrasion is an excellent procedure which can provide superior results to erase those fine vertical lines appearing above your upper lip. This procedure is a controlled abrasion of the upper to mid layers of the skin and is performed in our clinic.
This is not to be confused with Microdermabrasion.
Face/Neck Lifts
Facelifts are unique to the patient depending on the pattern of ageing and addresses the descent of the cheeks, nasolabial folds (known as the smile lines – the two skin folds that run from each side of the nose to the corners of the mouth), jowls, neck laxity and fatty accumulations beneath the chin.
We will individualise the surgery to the patients needs after a detailed consultation.
The surgery is carried out under general anaesthetic.
Liposuction (Liposculpture)
Liposuction is a popular procedure for areas of fat which are difficult to remove. This procedure can be performed under local or general anaesthetic depending on the extent of the liposuction. The patient will be required to wear a compression garment for 3-4 weeks after the procedure for optimum results.
We will determine what is required after a detailed consultation.
Tummy Tuck (Abdominoplasty)
Tummy tuck gives excellent results for people who have excess abdominal skin and fat resulting in a lower abdominal roll or overhang that does not respond to diet or exercise. This can be the result of pregnancy, poor lower abdominal muscle tone or excessive weight loss.
We use a crosswise lower abdominal incision which is easily hidden with underwear.
Prominent Ear Correction (Otoplasty)
Prominent Ears can be a cause of teasing and embarrassment and we do recommend correction at an early age.
Young children require a general anaesthetic and usually require an overnight stay whereas adults can have the procedure under local anaesthetic in our rooms.
Skin Cancer Surgery & Scar Revision
NZ's harsh UV rays mean skin cancer and melanoma are very prevalent. Most early stage skin cancers and scars can be removed. Skin surgery is one of the safest options and Dr. Mooney uses the latest technology to help solve all skin problems.
Cost will vary due to the unique situation of each individual.
Appearance Medicine
Many men and women are choosing non-surgical cosmetic techniques, which can be used to help restore a more youthful appearance.
The changes brought on by ageing can be easily improved by undergoing one of our appearance medicine treatments, such as botulinum toxin, dermal fillers and platelet rich plasma.
The results will look natural, ensure very little downtime and can last from six months to two years.
Fat Transfer/Grafting
Fat transfer is a procedure which transfers fat from your own body to an area that needs a volume boost, this can help minimise the look of deep lines and sunken cheeks.
